When to explore PdfCraft.
PdfCraft documents a usable, limited workflow for reading, annotating, filling forms and rearranging or combining PDF pages. Official desktop installers and source are available. It remains an early build with significant compatibility and production-workflow gaps; the listed capabilities are maker-documented rather than independently runtime-tested.
What to check first.
Existing-content editing is unreliable, particularly CJK/RTL. Office conversion/layout fidelity, full XFA, long-term signature validation and professional print/preflight remain incomplete. Fuzzing still finds crashes or hangs on hostile files; inspect saved copies. Capabilities are source-documented, not independently app-tested.
Work on a copy of a representative file. Compare forms, page management, office conversion against your actual requirements, then inspect the final output in the tool used by your collaborators.
