Terms of use
The rules for using VibeAlt, sharing your work and taking part in the maker community.
Version 2026-10-29 · Last updated 29 October 2026
1. Operator and scope.
VibeAlt at vibealt.com is operated by Wevent Hungary Szolgáltató Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság (Wevent Hungary Kft.), registered at 9094 Tápszentmiklós, Fő utca 38., Hungary. Company registration: 08-09-036729. Tax number: 32537747-2-08. Contact: hello@vibealt.com.
These terms govern use of the directory, public catalogue interfaces and maker community. Creating an account or submitting content means agreeing to the applicable terms. The privacy notice explains data handling; acknowledging it is not consent to optional cookies. We keep these terms accessible here so you can save or print them.
Browsing and maker participation are currently free. We are an independent directory, not the developer, reseller or security auditor of every listed tool. A link to external software leads to a separate service with its own terms, privacy practices, prices and licence.
2. Accounts and eligibility.
Maker accounts are intended for people aged 18 or over who can enter into an agreement. If you act for a company or project, you must have authority to represent it. Use accurate information and a username that does not impersonate another person or brand.
Keep your password, recovery code and connected GitHub account secure. Do not share credentials or attempt to access another user's account. Tell us promptly about suspected misuse. We store password hashes, not readable passwords; we cannot recover your original password for you.
Password accounts can use their saved recovery code and, where an email has been verified and email recovery is available, a time-limited reset link. GitHub-only accounts rely on GitHub sign-in and GitHub recovery. Adding an email does not create a password or transfer control of an existing account.
You can ask to close your account by contacting us. We may need proportionate verification and will explain how closure affects existing contributions and records that must be retained. You remain free to request correction, deletion or other applicable privacy rights.
3. Honest submissions and project claims.
Submit only material you are entitled to share. Describe the practical workflow a project can replace, its limitations, maturity and costs honestly. Provide attributable sources for AI-build claims and disclose your relationship to the project. Do not present a third-party project as your own, fabricate adoption or revenue, manufacture reviews, or imply feature parity without evidence.
A submission enters moderation and does not guarantee publication, a backlink, ranking, traffic, a verification badge or inclusion in the editorial catalogue. Approval on the community board and promotion into the researched catalogue are separate decisions. We may request evidence, correct factual errors and decline material that does not meet the published methodology.
GitHub connection confirms a public account identity. Repository-owner matching or a committed challenge demonstrates technical control at the time checked. These checks can expire or be revoked; they do not determine legal ownership, trademark rights, AI authorship, product safety or the right to commercialise a fork. Repository imports are starting points, and you remain responsible for checking the submitted information.
Your content and our permission to use it
You retain rights in your original contribution. By submitting it, you grant Wevent Hungary Kft. a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, reproduce, display, format and edit it as reasonably necessary to operate, moderate and promote that contribution within VibeAlt and its public directory interfaces. This permission is not a transfer of ownership or permission to sell your private account information. We should not materially misrepresent your work when editing it.
You may ask us to remove a contribution. Removed material may persist temporarily in restricted backups, and we may retain limited evidence needed for legal obligations or claims. Independently researched public facts and source citations may remain where there is a lawful editorial basis. Third parties and search engines may have made their own copies, which we cannot directly delete.
4. Acceptable use.
Do not post illegal content, malware, malicious links, confidential information, other people's sensitive personal data, harassment, threats, hate, spam or misleading commercial claims. Do not manipulate votes, create accounts to evade restrictions, infringe intellectual-property rights or use automated tools to overwhelm the service.
Our public read-only API and MCP interface can be used to discover public catalogue information within their access and rate limits. Do not bypass technical restrictions, use private account endpoints without permission, or assume every linked project's code, logo or screenshot has the same licence. Attribute VibeAlt when quoting its original editorial text; seek permission for substantial republication beyond rights provided by law. This does not restrict the use of facts or properly licensed third-party material.
5. Moderation, illegal-content reports and appeals.
Operators may approve, reject, edit or remove contributions and limit accounts when content is inaccurate, unsupported, unlawful, abusive or outside the directory's scope. Automated rate limits protect availability; they do not substitute for editorial review. We aim to apply the published rules consistently and consider the context and seriousness of a problem.
To report illegal content, impersonation, a rights infringement or a factual error, email hello@vibealt.com. Include the exact VibeAlt URL, a clear explanation, relevant evidence, how we can contact you and, for a rights claim, the rights you hold or are authorised to enforce. Avoid unnecessary sensitive information. Authorities may use the same contact, identifying their role and legal basis. We can communicate in English or Hungarian.
We will assess sufficiently specific reports and may seek clarification, restrict content while investigating or preserve evidence where appropriate. When we can lawfully do so and have a way to contact you, we will explain a material content/account restriction. If you disagree, reply with the decision reference and your reasons to request review. This process does not replace any statutory complaint, supervisory-authority or court remedy.
6. Sponsorship and future paid services.
Payments, paid memberships and paid placement purchases are not currently enabled. Sending a sponsorship enquiry does not place an order, authorise a charge, guarantee placement or create a subscription. Any future paid service needs its own clear offer, pricing, applicable tax, payment, cancellation and refund terms before an order is accepted.
Any commercial placement must be visibly labelled. Payment must not turn an unsupported claim into verified evidence or imply that an editorial control check is a paid endorsement. We do not promise search-engine indexing, rankings or revenue.
7. Availability, accuracy and responsibility.
We take reasonable care with directory research and operation. Listings are dated research aids; software features, licences, prices and availability can change after a check. A listed project may be incomplete, a prototype or unsuitable for your needs. Check primary sources, review the licence, test with non-critical data and keep backups before switching workflows.
We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility, third-party conduct or that every vulnerability or factual error has been identified. Tell us about material errors so we can investigate. We may change or discontinue features for maintenance, security, legal or operational reasons; we will give reasonable notice where practical for material changes affecting active accounts.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or removes mandatory consumer, data-protection or other statutory rights. In particular, these terms do not create a blanket waiver for intentional wrongdoing, gross negligence or harm where exclusion would be unlawful. Third-party disclaimers do not release us from obligations that apply to our own service.
8. Changes, complaints and governing law.
The version and date above identify these terms. Material changes will be highlighted on the website or communicated through an appropriate account channel where necessary; where a new agreement is required, merely publishing a revision will not replace it. New paid services will not be added to your account as an automatic charge.
Contact hello@vibealt.com for support or a complaint. Explain the issue and the outcome you seek. These terms are governed by Hungarian law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available under the law that would otherwise apply. Applicable rules determine the competent court; these terms do not impose an exclusive foreign forum on consumers. Eligible consumers retain access to the relevant consumer-protection and alternative-dispute-resolution bodies.
