When to explore Nib-E.
Nib-E documents everyday PDF editing without an account: change existing text, fill forms, annotate and rearrange pages, then save a PDF. The maker explicitly describes building the editor with Claude. Browser and desktop editions use a local PDF engine; installers are available for major desktop systems.
What to check first.
Text changes work one line at a time without paragraph reflow. XFA and DRM PDFs are unsupported. OCR supports English/German; certificate checks are offline without revocation/trust-list checks. Redaction is beta: inspect saved output. Installers are unsigned; macOS/Windows behavior needs real-device testing. Features are source-documented, not independently runtime-tested.
Work on a copy of a representative file. Compare forms, page management, office conversion against your actual requirements, then inspect the final output in the tool used by your collaborators.
