Scrapeman.

A local desktop API client with request collections and load testing.

A new take on the workflow.

Scrapeman documents local YAML collections, request history, a load runner and OAuth flows. The official site explicitly attributes feature implementation to Claude under human direction. No claims about competitors’ current paid feature limits are adopted here.

What you can switch today.

Replace Postman’s local API-client workflow: create or import requests, configure authentication, send them and inspect responses.

  1. Install a desktop release using the official project instructions.
  2. Import a disposable Postman v2.1 collection or create requests with your own environment and authentication settings.
  3. Send representative requests and compare response data, scripts and collection structure before switching.
Switching caveat. This covers a local API client, not Postman’s hosted team platform or monitors. Collection import and signing status should be checked for your selected release. Workflow evidence

Where it falls short.

Optional Scrape.do proxy usage has separate provider requirements and costs. Security, performance and advertised unlimited usage have not been independently verified.

Postman alternatives

Moving API work means checking authentication, environment variables, collections, scripts and team sharing. A local client can cover request testing while leaving cloud collaboration and monitoring outside its scope.
