DesignCraft.
Page layout and publishing with editable document layouts.
A new take on the workflow.
DesignCraft documents a usable, limited workflow for creating simple page layouts with threaded text and exporting a PDF. Official desktop installers and source are available. It remains an early build with significant compatibility and production-workflow gaps; the listed capabilities are maker-documented rather than independently runtime-tested.
What you can switch today.
Replace a limited part of the incumbent workflow: creating simple page layouts with threaded text and exporting a PDF.
- Download an official release for your platform and start with a copy of a small representative project.
- Complete the documented core edit/create workflow and save to the native project format.
- Export or reopen the result and compare its content, layout or timing before moving further work.
Where it falls short.
Pre-alpha. Complex page composition, fonts, IDML/INDD imports and print/export fidelity require checking with real documents. A generated sample magazine demonstrates the documented pipeline, not general InDesign production parity. Capabilities are source-documented, not independently app-tested.

What it can stand in for.
Typography, linked assets, document interchange and print-ready PDF output are critical. Inspect pages at final print size.
