Codiff.

A local Git diff viewer with review comments and optional AI walkthroughs.

A new take on the workflow.

Codiff brings local Git diff review into a graphical window, with file filters and review comments. Its maker explicitly describes building it to replace a git-plus-delta review workflow and directing an LLM to create the initial application.

What you can switch today.

Replace terminal git-plus-delta code-change review with a local graphical Git diff viewer and review comments.

  1. Open Codiff against a local test repository with representative changes.
  2. Review its file filters, diffs and comments on the same changes you would normally inspect in git plus delta.
  3. Copy review feedback back to your coding workflow; optional AI walkthroughs need separately configured tooling.
Switching caveat. Scoped to local Git review. Arbitrary file/folder comparison, image comparison and merge resolution are not claimed; optional AI tools may incur provider costs. Workflow evidence

Where it falls short.

AI walkthroughs run separately configured coding CLIs and may use paid provider access. Local diff review is a narrower workflow than every file comparison capability in Kaleidoscope. Infrastructure, external API usage and optional services may have separate costs.

Maker claims AI build. The maker’s Show HN post describes directing an LLM to build the initial app and then polishing it. This establishes a first-party AI-build claim, not a complete code-origin audit. Inspect the evidence

delta alternatives

Terminal Git review depends on clear diffs, file navigation and your feedback workflow. A graphical viewer can replace that daily review step without claiming to be a general file merge or image comparison application.
